Wanjiru is the founder and Managing Director of Social Impact Institute, a social enterprise, where she is responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day management of the firm, under delegated authority from the Board. She has over 16 years progressive professional experience and has been a consultant for over 10 years, in the social, economic and environmental sectors for clients such as IGAD, the United Nations, Nile Basin Initiative, Global Water Partnership, Nile Basin Discourse, Euroconsult/BMB Mott MacDonald, and additional consultancies in the public sector. She has dedicated her career to the creation of innovative approaches to help the youth to acquire the skills necessary to become successful entrepreneurs and become self-reliant. She is the Chairperson of Uwezo Fund (Ksh. 6 Billion block government fund set aside for women and the youth); and the Chairperson of the Youth Committee of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Wanjiru holds a Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) degree from the United States International University, a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School (course work completed), and a Bsc. in Business Administration from Slippery Rock University. Wanjiru is a certified Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Trainer.
