Dr. Sangeeta Sharma

National Ecology & Environment Foundation (NEEF)

Dr. Sangeeta Sharma is the Director of NEEF, which is a non-governmental organization (NGO), established in 1997 by well-known Academicians and Researchers and registered as a Public Trust in India. She has obtained her Ph.D. in Social & Environmental Issues from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB), one of the prestigious and premier Institutes in Mumbai, India.

She has contributed to several national and international projects, which include JBIC's project on EIA; Renewable Energy projects of ERIA, Indonesia and AIST, Japan; Environmental Education Project of NTU, Singapore; Maharashtra State Development Report (MSDR) for the Planning Commission and State of Environment Report (SoER), Maharashtra, for the Ministry of Environment and Forests, India. She is an Advisor and Consultant to various organizations at national and international levels.

Dr. Sharma's research interests include Social & Environmental issues with focus on Sustainable Development. Her work focuses on research and advocacy on Environment and Energy issues and she has conducted several Action-oriented, Educational, Training and Mass Media Programs. Some of the major topics of her current research are, Waste Management; Energy Trade in East Asian Countries; Life Cycle Assessment; Women and Environment, etc. She has published several policy reports and papers, presented papers in India and abroad and organized academic events.
